​Key Club International is the oldest, largest, and most successful non-profit student-led organization for high school students. Members of Key Club, a part of the community-service based Kiwanis International Family, develop themselves into young leaders as they positively impact their schools and communities.



Key Club is a multi-level organization that includes the Club level, Division level, Regional level, District level, and International level. 



Poway HS Key Club is part of the Division 37S Red Bulls in Region 2 of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District. Schools such as Torrey Pines, Mt. Carmel, Westview, Rancho Bernardo, and Del Norte all join Poway HS in Division 37S.



The organization of Key Club is crucial in understanding how the Cali-Nev-Ha operates. First, each high school Key Club is headed by a president. Next these high schools are then organized in geographical divisions headed by a Lieutenant Governor. Then these divisions are organized together into districts which are led by a Governor. Finally, these districts make up Key Club on the international level.



The Cali-Nev-Ha district, whose mascot is the bee, is a district with 52 divisions, 545 Key Clubs, and over 30,000 members. It is about one-eighth of all the members Key Club International. This number is still growing each year which results in more service.

 

The Poway chapter of Key Club is currently sponsored by the Poway Kiwanis, essentially the "adult-version" of key club which also seeks to serve the community of Poway. Furthermore, Poway Key Club also participates in events with the nearby K-Kids and Builders clubs.

Today, Key Club exists on almost 5,000 high school campuses, 30 different countries, primarily in the United States and Canada. Our organization is funded by nominal dues paid by every member, as well as generous contributions by Kiwanis International to fund service-leadership training programs. Our community-service organization offers a wide range of opportunities to its members, such as by supporting our International Service Partners March of Dimes, UNICEF, and Children’s Miracle Network.



The Key Club motto is "Caring - Our Way of Life." Through Key Club's work in the home, school, and community, Key Club members have learned that their organization is built around the concept of caring. With this concept as the foundation of the organization, Key Club will continue to be an effective and contributing organization in schools and communities.
